Day 1: Protection
Keep the blood clot in place. Do not disturb the socket. Rest with your head elevated. If bleeding is heavy, bite on a damp tea bag for 30 minutes.
Day 2-3: Recovery & Diet
Swelling usually peaks today. Use ice and begin gentle warm salt water rinses (1 tsp salt in warm water) after every meal. Stick to soft foods like mashed potatoes, soups, and shakes.
Day 7+: Normalcy
Pain should be almost gone. You can return to normal diet as comfort allows, but avoid chewing directly on the site.
